Born in Wolverhampton in 1952 and brought up in Royal Leamington Spa, Roy was educated at Warwick School and Sussex University. At Sussex he was a regular presenter on the campus TV service and became Social Secretary, booking many groups and artists who have since become legends.
Roy shares his life with his second wife Josette, who is french. Josette recently retired after nearly 30 years with British Airways, mainly working in the Concorde team. They divide their time between the south of France and Surrey.
Roy has a passion for music and technology as well as abiding interests in movies and reading. He’s a good cook and loves a glass or several of wine, preferably relaxing in the company of friends.
He has been an accomplished amateur actor and director, also adapting a radio play for the stage. He has written sleeve-notes for various CDs as well as contributing to the ‘Encyclopedia of Popular Music’ and the ‘All Time Top 1000 Albums’. With his friend Richard Burden he researched and wrote ‘The Car Treasure Hunt Book of Great Britain’. He is a keen follower of Formula One motor racing and is a Wolves supporter.
